The Carnegie is pleased to present an exhibition of new work by this long-time member of the arts Community and friend of the Gallery – John Wheeler. John spent many years as a designer of church furniture for Valley City Manufacturing in Dundas, and then as an innovative instructor in Sheridan College’s renown Animation Program. As an artist, he is recognized mainly for his lino and woodcut prints, but he is now translating his design expertise into colourful, digitally drawn images. These magical glimpses into the natural world are characterized by their strong use of contrast, line, and pattern – all generated through a computer mouse.
