State of Flux represents a new body of work produced over the last two years by established Dundas artist and Carnegie Artist Member, Marla Panko. Rooted in geometric formalism, Panko examines modernity and shared culture while aiming to make visual sense of our complex world. Work in the exhibition explores themes of transition, the ambiguities of perception, and the passage of time. The paintings specifically look at the concept of ‘engines’ as drivers of change and transformation. The collages and fibre works further incorporate appropriated images suggesting an underlying contextual narrative that reflects on the impermanence of a world in constant change.
