Christina Sealey – Imminent/Entangled

March 5 – April 3, 2021
Artist will be present on Saturday, March 6 from 1-3pm
or by appointment

Christina Sealey exhibition invitation, March 5 - April 3, 2021

This exhibition comprises two concurrent painting series, both based on the artist’s experiences and observations from the past year. Imminent depicts moments of impending action that serve as metaphors for the recent troubling geopolitical developments. The events in the paintings are frozen in time creating a moment to consider what is about to happen, or to perhaps envision a different outcome. Entangled addresses similar concerns but uses imagery from the natural world. Branches, vines, and limbs intertwine, supporting or competing with their neighbors, representing our increasingly chaotic and intertwined nature on this planet.
