Heather studied at The Artists Workshop and the Ontario College of Art(OCADU).  An award-winning art director, she worked as a designer and writer alongside her career as a painter.  She lived in New Zealand for 6 years, where she was a tutor at the Whitecliffe College of Art and served as Chair of the Regional Arts Council.  She taught watercolour workshops throughout the country and exhibited widely.  Returning to Canada, Heather taught at the Burlington Art Centre(AGB) for many years.  In 2006, Heather was awarded an International Residency Grant (Ireland).  In 2010, her artwork appeared as the front page of the Toronto Star newspaper in a special edition guest-edited by the Dalai Lama.  Combining the astute use of shape, space and observed detail,  her work reflects upon the simple beauty in everyday objects and the poetic relationships between them.  Her work may be found in private & corporate collections in North America, Britain, Ireland, Norway, Australia and New Zealand.
