Patricia Peacock-Evans – Everyday Passions

EVERYDAY PASSIONS celebrating the art of Patricia Peacock-Evans 1945-2023 May 31 – June 30, 2024 Opening Reception: Friday, May 31, 7-9:30pm This exhibition honours the life and work of Patricia Peacock-Evans. For Patsy, the two were inextricably bound for she looked to those ordinary objects that surrounded her for subject matter, and in doing so, made them seem extraordinary. Whether capturing the delicacy of a flower in bloom, the lusty flesh of a ripe melon, or the coiled line of a rusty bedspring, she shared her unique talent for expressing the unassuming beauty and mystery of the everyday world through her watercolour paintings and her graphite and ink drawings. Patsy was a long-time Carnegie Artist Member and avid supporter of the Gallery.  Her first sold-out solo show was at the Carnegie in 1990, and we are proud to have hosted numerous

Zorica Silverthorne – Through the Looking Glass

Botanical Imprints May 31 – June 30, 2024 Opening Reception: Friday, May 31, 7-9:30pm THE BARBER ATRIUM The Carnegie Gallery is pleased to present the Botanical Imprints of artist Zorica Silverthorne. This exhibition features a unique series of Eco prints on watercolour paper using locally foraged plant material. This exploration into the nature of repetition and the transferred essence of the plant has combined a dreamlike quality with elements of realism to create a sense of surrealism within the distorted mirror images of the prints.
