Breaking the Rules: Understanding Romanticism

An illustrated talk by Regina Haggo

Romanticist artists broke the rules, rebelled against tradition and looked at nature with fresh eyes. That makes Romanticism the foundation for modern art movements such as  Realism and Impressionism, both of which will be explored in subsequent talks in the fall and winter.

Regina Haggo is an art historian, public speaker, and former professor of art history in New Zealand who also writes a weekly column about art for the Hamilton Spectator.
