Maureen Steuart

Dundas, ON

A native of Victoria, B.C. Maureen has lived in towns all across Canada and pursued her interest in art throughout her life.   Working as an artist since 1983, she has studied oil painting in Croyden, England; sculpture at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton; drawing in Point Claire, Quebec as well as attended classes at the Art Gallery of Burlington, and DVSA.  She was especially guided by the mentorship of master printmaker Robert Creighton.  She has exhibited her work in numerous local group and solo shows including Gallery on the Bay, Centre 3, and the Carnegie Gallery.  Her delightful prints and collages are characterized by their narrative quality, sense of humour, and honesty of expression.
