Noelle Hamlyn

Having studied craft, fine art, and costuming, Noelle Hamlyn uses craft-practices to communicate both technical and conceptual aspects in her work.  Her pieces thoughtfully explore the nature of memory, history, the passing of time, and human experience.  Working since 2006, the artist received her training at Sheridan College School of Craft and Design, Fanshawe College, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  She has also had a number of artist residencies including at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Salt Spring Arts Council, and The Burren College of Art, Ireland.  Her work has received numerous awards and was selected to represent Canada at the Cheongju International Craft Biennale in South Korea in 2009.
