Patricia Peacock-Evans – Everyday Passions

Patricia Peacock-Evans, "Everyday Passions", exhibition invitation

celebrating the art of Patricia Peacock-Evans

May 31 – June 30, 2024
Opening Reception: Friday, May 31, 7-9:30pm

This exhibition honours the life and work of Patricia Peacock-Evans. For Patsy, the two were inextricably bound for she looked to those ordinary objects that surrounded her for subject matter, and in doing so, made them seem extraordinary. Whether capturing the delicacy of a flower in bloom, the lusty flesh of a ripe melon, or the coiled line of a rusty bedspring, she shared her unique talent for expressing the unassuming beauty and mystery of the everyday world through her watercolour paintings and her graphite and ink drawings.

Patsy was a long-time Carnegie Artist Member and avid supporter of the Gallery.  Her first sold-out solo show was at the Carnegie in 1990, and we are proud to have hosted numerous successful exhibitions of her work since.  She was awarded First Prize for watercolour at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition and many of her illustrations have been published. Her work can be found in numerous private collections.
