~ in the Atrium and the main Gallery

Artist will be present on Saturday, July 10, 1-3pm. Please note there will be a limit of 15 visitors at one time.

Patricia Peacock-Evans is a highly accomplished Hamilton watercolour artist. This recent work explores her dual fascination with both the visual beauty and formidable destruction of disaster events. Included in the exhibition is a series based on the 2019 burning of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris depicting the dramatic swirls of fire and smoke amongst the rubble. These poignant works express the tragedy of such horrific events and invite reflection on the nature of human frailty.

Review by Regina Haggo “These two artists look to capture Mother Nature’s terrible beauty“. (The Hamilton Spectator. 24 July 2021).
