The Carnegie Gallery is pleased to present the solo exhibition of Dundas based photographer, Andrew Wood. This exhibition presents a series of large-format photographs captured on 4×5 film across the remote Knoydart Peninsula in the Scottish Highlands. Working with the meditative process of analog photography, these images explore the Japanese concept of mono no aware — the bittersweet awareness of the impermanence of all things. The exhibition invites viewers to pause and reflect on their own place within the natural world, awakening that sense of awe that emerges when we truly observe nature’s ephemeral beauty. These images serve as meditations on impermanence, encouraging a deeper appreciation for the fleeting moments that surround us daily, often unnoticed in our accelerated modern lives.
